Art installation photography: Days and Deeds
In mid-September I took a road trip to Cadiz, KY to photograph the installation of Days and Deeds, an art exhibit featuring the works of Miranda Herrick and Mary Sue Kern.
Mary Sue Kern's works are primarily assembled from found objects. Their three-dimensional nature are a wonderful contrast to Miranda's two-dimensional pieces.
Both artists have running themes of recycling in their works. Miranda's Reflective series is made from post-consumer aluminum cans, Rocket Science is made from Starburst wrappers, and the colorful red piece is made from pizza and cereal boxes. Mary Sue's "collecting and dissemblage" process is her effort to give discarded objects new appreciation, introducing them to new audiences in (or as) an entirely new package.
Enjoy the images from this excellent show.
